The Democratic Alliance is marching against gender-based violence on Tuesday. The party says the backlog of DNA samples in GBV, murder and violent-crime cases is delaying and denying women justice. DA national spokesperson Siviwe Gwarube said it's crucial evidence that will allow for the police to convict people who have committed these crimes. "There are hundreds of thousands of people whose cases cannot be resolved because of this thing," she said.
"What we are saying is that the police minister and president should not just sit back and allow this to happen because this is a matter of delaying justice and denying justice for the women who become victims of these violent crimes."
