Uganda's bid to track repeat offenders with DNA

In a bid to track repeat offenders, the identification of repeat offenders is being prioritised in Uganda. In the past, the biometric record of offenders only comprised of fingerprints and facial features. However, the ongoing review of the legal framework will provide for the inclusion of DNA profiles of offenders as part of the criminal record. Central to this approach will be the establishment of a criminal DNA database with a specific sex-offenders index. Read more here.
