Police Minister Bheki Cele has confirmed that the backlog in DNA tests involving gender-based cases has grown to over 80 000 at the SAPS forensic science laboratories in the last month.
This means that many victims are denied justice and that there are more potential criminals on the streets right now.
We need to create #DNAforchange and hold government and SAPS accountable to their #DNABAcklog action plan.
