Over the past 49 editions of #ForensicFridays, we have shared groundbreaking forensic news, as well as sadly, tragic news where forensic science has aided in human identification. We have expanded our DNAforAfrica community, and highlighted some impressive advancements and events in forensic science across Africa. We have showcased some amazing DNA Crusaders who are breaking barriers and changing the forensic narrative in our region, and have also highlighted shortcomings in the global forensic community's response to helping us develop our scientists. This 50th milestone not only marks our growth but also reflects our forensic community's commitment to developing greater forensic capacity through collaboration. As we look back on these achievements (and challenges!), DNAforAfrica remains dedicated to continuing our mission and driving further progress in the field of DNA forensics.
